Where it started
I grew up in Leiden, a busy city in the Netherlands. Bikes everywhere, people rushing to class or work, tourists getting lost in small streets. It’s chaos, but in a good way.
For me, Leiden was my first runway.
I was always looking at what people were wearing. Long coats flying behind bikes. Big scarves. Cool sneakers. Vintage bags. Sometimes it was super simple, sometimes it was loud and different. I didn’t know it then, but I was low-key studying outfits every single day.
I loved the people who didn’t dress “perfect.” The ones who mixed patterns, wore weird colors together or styled something in a way you don’t see in magazines. They made me think, “Wait, you can actually do that?” That’s when I started to see fashion as something playful, not just “what’s in the store right now.”
I will write a full post just about Leiden street style and how everyday people are the best inspiration. It’s way more real than a runway show and more fun to watch.
My style philosophy
When I moved to the USA to study and play tennis, I noticed a more basic approach to fashion. This ignited my desire to stand out even more, inspiring me to share my unique perspective. People often comment on my distinct clothing choices, and that's exactly what I aim for.
